They also released the single Goochi as a collaboration with Luis Vasquez (USA) the Ambassador of MANDINGAs music worldwide and the pioneer of LA salsa style. The single has major success on radio stations in Spain, Switzerland, Peru, Chile, LA, Bulgaria and Romania.
LATEST RELEASE : DONDE
MANDINGA's last album Donde reflects and demostrates the unique sound of balkan salsa.
The mixture of traditional salsa with Balkan music gives birth to a new sound that only Mandinga posses.
The album received acclaimed reviews as a good example of what worlds music is.
Balkan salsa = salsa with balkan folklore influences mixed and enriched with rhythms of Cha cha, latin jazz, bolero, latin hip-hop and so on. it is a kind of Goran Bregovich's style but with salsa twist
ACHIEVEMENTS
* MANDINGA has approximately 300 concerts per year along with regular tv show appearances, events, and press conferences.
* For several months, the band was a permanent guest for the TV Show Danutz SRL one of the highest rating and most popular program in Romania.
* MANDINGA has its own international salsa festival SALSAFEST (www.salsafest.ro ), its own dance brand SALSAPHORIA and an online radio with latino music RA DIO SOL (www.radiosol.ro)
* The band has performed as guest artists in Bulgaria, Germany, Poland and Cuba.
* They achieved a Gold Record for the album Soarele meu (My Sun)
* For the past 6 years MANDINGA has consistently won and held the title of Best Latino at voted award shows.
* 2009 acknowledged as winners of Best live Band at the Romanian Music Awards.
